HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)

Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, Practice Logix is bound to protect our physician clients' data under Business Associates Agreements executed separately with each client ("covered entity") and under a Business Associates Agreement with our EDI clearinghouse, ENS.

We work diligently to understand the requirements of the electronic healthcare transactions and code set standards, and use an electronic clearinghouse that must follow HIPAA standards. We can provide a sample Business Associates Agreement to our clients to supplement the confidentiality provisions of our Billing & Collections Agreement.
